Main Leaders in Women's Rights Movement
The Women's Suffrage Movement consisted of many contributions of effort and hard work from many people. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan Brownell Anthony were the main leaders of the movement, even though there were many others; they were the first women to express the idea women's suffrage to the whole community. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the more radical 19th century suffragists and women's rights leaders, who had devoted her whole life to free women from the legal obstacles that prevented women from getting equality with men.
Susan Brownell Anthony was "the Napoleon of the women's rights movement", who led the fight of the women's suffrage for more than 50 years.
The goal set by these two remarkable women was accomplished in 1920 that granted the right for women to vote in the 19th amendment.
